Senior Accountant

About the Role
Our client an FMCG company is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, treasury, taxation, auditing, and operational finance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all accounting and finance functions, including monthly management reports (MIS), weekly/monthly cash flow projections, and financial analysis.
Prepare annual budgets, variance analysis reports, and project financial reports.
Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
Develop financial strategies, risk mitigation plans, and financial forecasts to support business growth.
Drive cost optimization initiatives while ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to reporting deadlines.
Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and tax obligations.
Oversee fixed asset management and maintain an accurate fixed asset register.
Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely collections and payments.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including financial institutions and regulatory bodies.
Monitor capital expenditure against approved budgets and management authorizations.
Oversee finance systems and recommend process improvements where necessary.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and applicable legislation.
Manage loan schedules and coordinate funding for loan repayments.
Analyse bank interest charges and reconcile variances with bank statements.
Monitor debtors, inventory, and overdue accounts, implementing appropriate recovery actions.
Manage import and export financial documentation, including M-Form processing, NXP documentation, payment reconciliation, and related transactions.
Perform any other finance-related responsibilities assigned by management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
ICAN certification is mandatory.
Minimum of 10 years’ accounting and finance experience, preferably within FMCG, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, treasury, auditing, and cost control.
Excellent analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
