SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated, technically inclined, and service-oriented Entry-Level IT Support Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day technical support to staff, assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software, and support the effective operation of the organisation’s IT systems and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of both hardware and software, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop professionally within the IT field.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
- Provide first-level support for software, operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other business applications.
- Troubleshoot basic network, Wi-Fi, internet, and connectivity issues.
- Provide timely technical support to staff and assist with account access, passwords, device setup, and general IT issues.
- Support basic IT security measures, antivirus updates, data backups, and safe technology practices.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licences, equipment allocation, repairs, and maintenance.
- Support staff onboarding and offboarding by setting up or disabling IT accounts, devices, and access.
- Liaise with IT vendors and service providers when necessary and escalate complex technical issues appropriately.
- Assist with IT procurement by providing technical specifications and recommendations.
- Prepare basic IT reports and documentation and perform other IT-related duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree/HND/OND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in IT support, helpdesk, technical support, or a similar role. Fresh graduates with strong practical IT knowledge are encouraged to apply.
- Good knowledge of computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft 365/Office 365 administration.
- Basic understanding of computer networking, LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and internet connectivity.
- Ability to install and configure computer systems, software, printers, and other peripherals.
- Basic understanding of IT security, antivirus protection, data backup, and user access management.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to diagnose technical issues systematically and provide practical solutions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other departments. - Willingness to learn new technologies, software, and IT systems.
- Ability to manage multiple support requests and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, confidentiality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
