Key Responsibilities
Carry out topographic, route, construction, and as-built surveys for highway and civil infrastructure projects.
Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control points for construction activities.
Set out roads, bridges, drainage systems, culverts, and other civil engineering works in accordance with approved drawings.
Verify survey data, measurements, and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
Prepare survey reports, maps, drawings, and other technical documentation.
Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, Auto Levels, and other modern survey instruments.
Work closely with project engineers, site managers, and consultants to support project planning and execution.
Monitor construction progress and provide accurate survey data throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
Minimum of 12–15 years of relevant post-qualification experience in land surveying for major civil engineering and highway infrastructure projects.
Mandatory experience working with Tier One construction companies.
Proven experience in highway construction, road alignment, bridge setting-out, and infrastructure development projects.
Proficiency in survey software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Leica Geo Office, Trimble Business Center, or similar applications.
Strong knowledge of GPS/GNSS surveying, Total Stations, digital levels, and other modern surveying technologies.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
Registration with SURCON and membership of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) will be an added advantage.
