Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor wastewater treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, and control panels
Conduct regular inspections of treatment processes to ensure optimal performance
Monitor and record flow rates, chemical usage, and system performance data
Perform routine laboratory tests on water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Adjust treatment processes and chemical dosing as required to maintain quality standards
Identify operational issues and perform basic troubleshooting and corrective actions
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
Maintain accurate logs, reports, and operational records
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Respond to emergencies, equipment failures, and system alarms
Coordinate with maintenance teams and external contractors when necessary
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of OND/HND/B.Sc. in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field
Relevant certification in wastewater treatment operations is an added advantage
2–5 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations
Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes (e.g., biological treatment, filtration, sludge handling)
Ability to operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
