Job Title: Farm Manager
Reports To: Farm Owner / Agricultural Director
Job Summary:
The Farm Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the farm, ensuring efficient production, proper staff supervision, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and hands-on oversight of both crop and livestock production (if applicable).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Farm Operations Management
Plan and execute planting, cultivation, and harvesting schedules.
Supervise irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and crop rotation strategies.
Oversee livestock care routines, including feeding, breeding, and health checks (if applicable).
Monitor and manage farm equipment and infrastructure maintenance.
2. Staff Supervision
Hire, train, and manage farm laborers and other personnel.
Assign daily tasks and ensure productivity and compliance with farm protocols.
Provide performance feedback and manage conflict resolution among team members.
3. Budgeting & Resource Allocation
Prepare and manage farm budgets and forecasts.
Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective operations.
Oversee the procurement of seeds, equipment, fertilizers, and other supplies.
4. Record-Keeping & Compliance
Maintain accurate records of farm activities, inputs, yields, and sales.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Submit reports to stakeholders as required.
5. Strategic Planning
Analyze market trends and recommend changes to farm production strategies.
Implement sustainable farming practices to improve yield and soil health.
Explore new technologies and methods to increase efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, or related field (preferred).
3–5 years of farm management experience.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Knowledge of modern farming equipment and agricultural best practices.
Proficiency in farm management software (an advantage).
