Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s vendor invoices, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely payments, and compliance with established financial policies. This role requires strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Process, verify, and reconcile vendor invoices and staff reimbursements.
Ensure timely and accurate posting of invoices into accounting systems.
Review payment requests for accuracy, appropriate approvals, and policy compliance.
Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs.
Reconcile vendors’ statements and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain proper documentation of all accounts payable activities.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
Monitor account balances and highlight any unusual or suspicious transactions.
Liaise with suppliers, internal departments, and auditors as needed.
Recommend improvements to AP processes to enhance efficiency and control.
Job Specification

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
3–5 years of proven experience in an Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, ERP systems).
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations).

Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or trading company.
Familiarity with tax laws (WHT, VAT) and regulatory reporting.
Experience supporting procurement or inventory-related transactions.
Ability to participate in internal process audits.
