As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant to join our finance team.
Position Summary:
The Chartered Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and executing the reconciliation of daily accounts from Sales Officers and ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions. This role also involves general accounting responsibilities, financial reporting, and supporting audit and compliance functions to uphold the integrity of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Daily Reconciliation:
• Reconcile daily cash collections, deposits, and disbursements from Sales Officers.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
• General Accounting & Financial Management:
• Maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, and ledgers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Monitor branch-level accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
• Audit & Compliance:
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulatory requirements, and MicroFinance guidelines.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with branch accountants and Sales Officers to streamline financial processes.
• Train and guide junior finance staff as needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• ICAN certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a MicroFinance or financial services institution.
• Strong understanding of reconciliation procedures and financial controls.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
