Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, altering, and repairing garments to meet our high standards of quality and fit. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, take accurate measurements, and provide expert advice on fabric and style.
Key Responsibilities
-Fitting & Measurement: Conduct client fittings, taking precise measurements to ensure optimal garment fit.
-Altarations: Perform complex alterations on various garments (suits, dresses, bridal wear, or casual attire), including hemming, tapering, and resizing.
-Construction: Assemble garments from patterns or sketches using industrial sewing machines and hand-stitching techniques.
-Pattern Work: Read and interpret patterns; perform basic pattern drafting or adjustments as needed.
-Quality Control: Inspect finished products for stitching accuracy, symmetry, and overall aesthetic finish.
-Fabric Care: Provide expert recommendations on fabric types, care instructions, and garment longevity.
-Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on sewing machines, overlockers, and pressing equipment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional tailoring or dressmaking experience.
Technical Mastery: Proficiency in using industrial sewing machines, sergers, and professional pressing tools.
Eye for Detail: Exceptional hand-sewing skills and an acute sense of symmetry and proportion.
Fabric Knowledge: Deep understanding of different textiles, including silks, wools, leathers, and synthetics.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients during fittings.
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines without sacrificing quality.
