1. JOB IDENTIFICATION
Job Title: HR Business Partner (HRBP)

Department: Human Resources

Location: Port Harcourt, Nigeria

2. ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
·         Directly Reports to:                                       HR Director

·         Indirectly Reports to:                                     General Manager, Operations

·         Supervises:                                                      Foremen, HR/Admin Officers

·         Indirect Oversight: Over 100 skilled and unskilled workers across multiple sites

 

3. JOB SUMMARY
The HRBP partners strategically with ichr group’s leadership, foremen, and clients to ensure effective HR management across operational sites. This role drives talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance while working proactively and independently within a field-focused environment.

 

4. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Responsibilities:
·         Primary HR liaison supporting foremen, supervisors, and field staff.

·         Manage recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, and workforce deployment.

·         Conduct site visits for engagement, compliance, and safety oversight.

·         Support disciplinary processes, performance issues, and grievance handling.

·         Liaise with the HR Director and GM Operations to align HR strategy with business needs.

 

Key Responsibilities/Major Tasks:
·         Lead recruitment for skilled and unskilled roles.

·         Identify training needs and roll out development programs.

·         Foster client relationships and ensure HR support aligns with project expectations.

·         Implement performance appraisal systems to drive productivity.

·         Monitor HR metrics and feedback to inform leadership decisions.

·         Assist with HR policy development, change management, and employee engagement initiatives.

5. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
·         Project staffing readiness and timeliness.

·         Compliance with labor laws, safety standards, and internal HR policies.

·         HRD, Foremen and client satisfaction with HR delivery.

·         Reduction in delays in HR legal and internal documentation, turnover, absenteeism, and disciplinary incidences.

·         Completion of training/development initiatives and accurate HR reporting.

 

6. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
·         Bachelor’s or higher in HR Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.

·         Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in field/operational contexts (e.g., construction, oil & gas).

·         CIPM or equivalent HR certification highly preferred.

7. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
·         Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR practices.

·         Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and workforce management tools.

·         Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and client relationship skills.

·         Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

·         Effective communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities.

 

8. REMUNERATION

100,000 – 120,000 per month.
