Job Summary:

The Head of Finance and Accounts Unit will play a critical role in supporting the Department of Commerce’s objective to regulate global commerce within LoveWorld Nation. This role will lead the development and implementation of financial strategies, manage financial operations, and ensure accurate accounting practices that align with the department’s goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement financial strategies that support the department’s objective to regulate global commerce and drive economic growth.

2. Manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for initiatives that promote trade development, investment, and business growth.

3. Oversee financial reporting, accounting, and compliance for all departmental programs and initiatives.

4. Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to inform decision-making on trade policies, investment opportunities, and business development initiatives.

5. Collaborate with other units to drive financial sustainability and growth, ensuring alignment with the department’s goals.

6. Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and other stakeholders to support trade finance and investment initiatives.

7. Provide leadership and guidance to the Finance and Accounts Unit team, ensuring effective financial management and oversight.

8. Ensure effective financial controls and risk management practices are in place to safeguard departmental assets and resources.

 

Requirements:

– Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Business).

– Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success in financial management, preferably in a government or public sector setting.

– Strong financial management, accounting, and analytical skills, with expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.

– Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
