FG, UK partner to ink N589bn pact in eight sectors



The Federal Government of Nigeria and the United Kingdom have signed eight partnership agreements, committing £272.6 million to key sectors of the Nigerian economy. The agreements cover collaboration in areas such as governance, climate change, education, health, and the economy. The UK Charge d’Affaires, Cynthia Rowe, emphasized the importance of the relationship between the two countries and highlighted the UK’s ongoing support for Nigeria’s development agenda. Minister Bagudu welcomed the support from the UK government, noting the significance of the agreements in the current global economic climate. He also mentioned President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms and the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at stimulating economic growth and development. The minister expressed confidence in overcoming challenges with the help of working partners and thanked the UK Charge d’Affaires for her cooperation in finalizing the agreements.
