Edosio unveils new collection at Lagos photo exhibition

Efe Edosio, a documentary photographer and filmmaker based in Lagos, recently showcased his latest collection titled “Elder Blessings” at the ongoing exhibition, “Through the Lens: The Next Generation of Photographers.”

The exhibition, which opened to the public last Saturday at the Alliance Française Gallery in Lagos, will be on display until September 7, 2024.

“Through the Lens: The Next Generation of Photographers” is a collaborative exhibition that highlights the compelling and innovative works of emerging photographers who are reshaping the art form in Nigeria and beyond.

Efe Edosio’s focus on the “Elder Blessings” culture, a sacred tradition of the Aladja people in Delta State, sets him apart in this exhibition. Through his collections, he delves into the essence of this traditional practice that honors the oldest married woman in the community, known as the Okpako Eghewaya R’Aladja, as the guardian of wisdom and spiritual connection passed down to future generations.
