Job Description: Dispatch Rider
Job Summary
The Dispatch Rider is responsible for the fast and secure delivery of documents, packages, and other items within a designated area. The rider ensures timely drop-offs while adhering to traffic laws and company policies. This role requires excellent navigation skills, reliability, and a strong sense of urgency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
1. Delivery Operations
✔ Safely operate a motorcycle or bicycle to deliver items promptly.
✔ Collect and drop off parcels, documents, or goods as assigned.
✔ Verify recipient details and obtain signatures/confirmation for deliveries.
2. Customer Service & Communication
✔ Maintain professional communication with clients and dispatchers.
✔ Report delivery issues immediately.
✔ Provide excellent customer service during pickups and drop-offs.
3. Maintenance & Compliance
✔ Perform routine checks on the motorcycle/bicycle (fuel, brakes, tires, etc.).
✔ Ensure proper maintenance and report mechanical issues to management.
✔ Follow all traffic regulations and company safety policies.
✔ Wear safety gear (helmet, reflective jacket, etc.) at all times.
4. Record-Keeping
✔ Update delivery logs and submit proof of delivery (POD) records.
✔ Track mileage and fuel usage
✔ Submit daily/weekly reports on completed deliveries.
Requirements & Qualifications
✔ Valid Rider’s License
✔ 2+ years experience as a dispatch rider or in a similar role
✔ Familiarity with local routes and traffic conditions in Lagos.
✔ Ability to navigate using google maps efficiently.
✔ Physically fit
✔ Basic smartphone literacy
✔ Honest and reliable with strong time management skills.
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
✔ Experience with e-commerce or food delivery services.
✔ Knowledge of basic motorcycle maintenance.
Work Conditions
-Schedule: weekdays, may include weekends/public holidays.
– Environment: Outdoor work in all weather conditions
– Physical Demands: Riding for extended periods, lifting
