Key Responsibilities:
1. Social Media Management
- Develop and implement social media strategies to amplify organizational messaging and advocacy related to SGBV.
- Manage day-to-day posting, monitoring, and engagement across social media platforms (e.g., Twitter/X, Instagram, and Facebook).
- Create visual and written content tailored to platform-specific audiences and campaign objectives.
- Track and analyze engagement metrics to inform content performance and growth strategies.
- Organize IG lives, Facebook lives and X spaces as may be appropriate, and be responsible for drafting questions and identifying guest speakers.
2. Content Development
- Draft high-quality content including blogs, press releases, op-eds, newsletters, reports, and case studies.
- Develop storytelling assets that highlight the impact of the organization’s work on SGBV prevention and response.
- Ensure all content aligns with the organization’s voice, values, and style guidelines.
3. Strategic Communications Support
- Support the planning and execution of advocacy campaigns, media outreach, and stakeholder communications.
- Maintain a content calendar and coordinate with program teams to source stories and updates.
- Assist with the creation of digital toolkits, briefing materials, and talking points as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in communications, preferably within NGOs, international organizations, or advocacy institutions.
- Demonstrated experience creating content on SGBV, gender justice, human rights, or related issues.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail and clarity.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital analytics tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines.
- Sensitivity and understanding of ethical storytelling, especially when engaging with survivors or vulnerable communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in or with organizations focused on women’s rights, gender equality, or humanitarian sectors.
- Knowledge of content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
- Familiarity with SEO principles and digital advertising (Meta/Google Ads) is an asset.
