Job Overview
As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing our social media presence, creating captivating content, and engaging with our audience across all platforms. You will also be required to utilize your graphic design skills to produce eye-catching visuals that align with our brand and message.
This role is crucial to increasing our brand’s visibility, driving traffic to our online platforms, and ensuring that our social media content remains relevant, timely, and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
– Publish news stories on WordPress
– Social Media Management: Develop, implement, and manage social media strategies across platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to enhance our online presence.
– Content Creation: Create, edit, and publish high-quality written and visual content that drives engagement and boosts readership.
– Graphic Design: Use design tools to produce graphics, infographics, and multimedia content that align with our editorial vision.
– Community Engagement: Actively engage with followers, respond to comments, and encourage meaningful conversations.
– Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and report on social media performance using analytics tools to optimize content and strategies.
– Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial, marketing, and design teams to ensure cohesive messaging and visual consistency across all platforms.
Qualifications and Requirements
– Proven Experience in managing social media accounts for a business or news organization.
– Graphic Design Skills with proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Canva, etc.
– Strong Writing Skills with the ability to create engaging content tailored to different platforms.
– Knowledge of Social Media Trends and ability to adapt strategies to stay ahead of the curve.
– Analytical Skills with experience in using social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
– Ability to multitask and handle pressure in a fast-paced news environment.
– Creative and Innovative mindset with attention to detail.
– A strong eam player who can work collaboratively with various departments.
Preferred Qualifications
– Previous experience in the news/media industry.
– Basic understanding of SEO and its role in social media strategy.
– Familiarity with video editing software is a plus.
